Video Games and Learning MOOC

October 18, 2013

The University of Wisconsin Madison has created a Massively Open Online Course (MOOC) on the topic of video games and learning.  The course began on October 3, 2013 and will run for a total of 6 weeks.   The first two weeks have covered topics relating to how games are designed, how they tackle problems, how they create different learning trajectories for players.  The course is a mixture of online lectures, short readings and assignments. Along with the two instructors, Kurt Squire and Constance Steinkuehler, there is an assigned teaching assistant (TA) who has been interacting with participants on the forum.

I have found the course to be informative thus far and am looking forward to future classes.  If anyone else has been taking this class, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts!
